Care Connections

Blackdown Care Connections is a new, not‑for‑profit, community‑focused service from the Blackdown Support Group.

Our purpose is simple:

to help local people understand care and support options in their community and make independent contact with local self-employed micro-providers who are connected with the network, and committed to standards developed and enforced by Somerset and Devon Council.

Trust, Experience & Local Knowledge

We provide information about local independent micro-providers who offer flexible, person-centred assistance — helping people consider options that may support independence, dignity and wellbeing at home.

We are proud to be working alongside other community projects collectively known as the Somerset Cares Alliance to improve the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of adult social care.

These community-led initiatives aim to make it easier for people to understand local support options and make their own informed choices. Communities will share ideas, set priorities, and work together to strengthen local support. Volunteers, families, and local groups will help create a more connected network of information, relationships and community support.

Latest News & Events

Catch up on recent news, events and stories from our Care Connections service, supporting people to stay independent at home by improving visibility of local independent micro-providers.

Drop-In Morning

We enjoyed a get together with local providers at our recent drop in meeting in June….get in touch if you’d like to find out about our next event.

PLEASE NOTE:

Care Connections is an information and signposting service. It does not employ, direct, supervise, organise, match, recommend or manage micro-providers or their work. Any arrangement is made directly between the individual, or their lawful representative, and the micro-provider.
